windows vista

Other performance was a bit slower with the SP1 installed but files copied faster.

The Windows Vista was a beautiful interface and refreshing in its sense and in the eyes, however, it had glitches as it is a trial in error. And that is why Microsoft came up to resolve the problem through an enhancer called… Service Pack 1.

Microsoft released new software called Service Pack 1 (SV1), which main purpose is to be a solution to solve some of the glitches that annoyed users of Windows Vista that caused discouragement in adapting the said OS.

It was said that at the first trial of SP1, its main feature would be the file copying which was basically related complaints of Vista users. However in other tests it showed only little improvement, that their experience was a bit better not having the SP1 installed.

Service Pack 1 had been released to manufacturing recently on February 5, 2008 and had been sent out to reviewers the next day. SP1 will be available in the market come March as downloadable. It is also said that Microsoft has plans of making SP1 integrated with Windows Vista but could not give a specific time on how quick the update in the retail version of Vista would be.

Some more features that Microsoft had enhanced through SP1 would be, improved performance when copying, , extracting and compressing files, improved network performances, improved boot, power down times and other performance related fixes.

Upon installing Service Pack 1, Windows Vista will release a friendly warning saying that  the installation may take an hour, but surprisingly it only took 27 minutes installation time.
