For those who share a hand as a late comer in the console market, here is some bad news. In an announcement from Sony, a significant reduction of Sony PS 3 will not take effect. Despite what the market had been anticipating a significant decrease on PS 3’s price due to the similar to the depreciation of Playstation 2, with a recent interview of SCEA CEO Jack Tretton had revealed the truth.

In the interview Tretton had said that there isn’t any possible reduction of PS 3’s price for 2007, due to an enormous cost that was attributed in the making of the said console. Therefore making the price or the console difficult to manage.

On the upside of it all, Microsoft seems to have gained lots of hits with it’s new console for each PS3, it has a significant loss of $241 on 60GB versions of the console while another $307 on the 20GB version.

However, it seems that markets that is apart from America will get some break or relief. After all the Japanese market had received a $70 reduction asides the console launch that faces the public outcry. There is also a possibility of a price reduction in Europe where the product has yet to launch or it may give a reasonable bundle. There is still no news yet if whether or not there’s a huge reduction in Australia as they are expecting a huge price but most have already been thinking of getting their PS3 imported from Japan or Hong Kong.
