Xbox 360

18 Million Xbox consoles had been sold worldwide since it’s launch in November 2005. If you’re Xbox 360 is still working till now, then we claim you to have been one of the lucky ones who surpassed the great “Red Ring Failure”. Over 16% of the purchased Xbox 360 had malfunctioned or has experience a hardware failure with the typical cause that spell almost amongst all of it, and that would be the well known “Red Ring of Death” which in other words would be, an error led by the product’s overheating. There are two out of three complaints resulting to this.

Because of this the Xbox in comparison to other gaming consoles has lost its touch to its end users and some of its Xbox enthusiasts having a 3% failure rate. Most had experienced the failure 6 to ten months upon purchase.

Squaretrade ran to Microsoft to find solutions to the said failure. Having Microsoft deal with the affected individuals of the console failure. So to lessen the spread of bad mouthing about the game console in it’s market.

The situation in itself is hard to fix. The affected end users had been making multiple calls in dissatisfaction. Making the Xbox support line a support hotline of the Xbox 360 users.

These are some safety tips to help the Xbox 360 users avoid such failures;

Consider the Cooling System

Since the main reason for the hardware’s failure is due to overheating, it would be wise to have a cooling system for the console itself, avoiding it from burning out.

Don’t Change it’s Orientation

When the DVD drive running, as it is as well secured as it’s supposed to be, do not flip it over or remove it from it’s original standing orientation, doing so will cause internal scratches.
